Dear applicants, parents, friends, and colleagues,

As mentioned in my last letter, the Sullivan University College of Pharmacy has received the ACPE team visit for our program's Pre-Candidate application. This visit took place October 23-25, 2007. The ACPE team met with The Sullivan University System administration, the College of Pharmacy administration and faculty, the preceptors, and the Dean to review the progress and the accomplishments that we have described in our application process. We are scheduled to meet with the ACPE Board of Directors on January 10, 2008 in Tampa, Florida, where an official decision regarding our pre-candidate status will be discussed and issued after the meeting. I will notify you about the outcome as soon as we receive the announcement, and we hope for the best.

We are very pleased to announce that our construction team, Ron Metts Construction, has done an excellent job in advancing the deadline in the remodeling of the offices for the faculty, department chairs, and directors.

The first project in remodeling the space in the current building was to transform an area on the existing 2nd floor into the beautiful offices for 10 of our faculty and our department chairs and directors, who moved in on October 19, 2007. Additionally, we now have a wonderful new Conference Room. The interior design and decoration for the space was provided by Susan Noel, KCID, faculty member at Louisville Technical Institute's Interior Design Institute.

The second project will be to build the Sullivan University College of Pharmacy Drug Information Center and an additional 10 faculty offices on the existing 3rd floor. This work will be accomplished concurrently with the new construction of the COP building.

We are very excited about our progress and, as always, I will keep you up to date with regard to all the new happenings with our College of Pharmacy.

With Best Regards,

Hieu T. Tran, Pharm.D.

We have two new wonderful events that I would like to share with all of you who have believed in us—our friends, colleagues, parents, and future students.

I would like to report to you that the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) has authorized an on-site visit for our College as a follow-up to our Pre-Candidate application that was submitted May 1, 2007, and which was followed with a meeting with the ACPE Board of Directors on June 25, 2007. The ACPE visit has been scheduled for October 23-25, 2007. We are very excited about this news and we appreciate that the ACPE Board of Directors has granted us this authorization. I will keep you informed of the outcome of the visit as we move along the process.

Another wonderful event has happened. On July 25, 2007, on the land that was just purchased adjacent to the Sullivan University main campus for the future College of Pharmacy (2100 Gardiner Lane, Louisville, KY), Sullivan University System Chancellor A. R. Sullivan and Sullivan University System President Glenn Sullivan were joined by our friends and colleagues (including the Governor of Kentucky, Ernie Fletcher and the Mayor of Metro Louisville, Jerry Abramson) to celebrate the groundbreaking ceremony for the future College of Pharmacy. Also joining us for this celebration were six of our 15 hired College of Pharmacy faculty, who were able to take time out of their busy schedules to be here for this most important event. Please see the "News and Events" section of our web page for the newspaper coverage of this celebration.

As always, thank you very much for following up with us in this exciting journey for our College. Have a great summer! I will be looking forward to hopefully meeting you all in the future!

With Best Regards,

Dear Applicants,

Sullivan University has initiated the establishment of a College of Pharmacy in Louisville, Kentucky to respond to the shortage of pharmacists not only in the state of Kentucky, but also nationwide. I have the honor and the high privilege to lead this new educational endeavor. I would like to provide you with an update on the progress of the College of Pharmacy at this current time.

The new Sullivan University College of Pharmacy (COP) will be located on a 5.6 acre campus, directly adjacent to the Sullivan University main campus, which the University leadership acquired on April 23, 2007. This new campus property currently holds a modern 60,000 sq. ft. office building which will be available to the College of Pharmacy, as required, to meet all foreseeable growth needs over the next period of years.

A totally new addition will be constructed and attached to the current building which will add an additional 18,000 sq. ft. of space. This new building will house two 100-seat multi-media equipped auditoriums, a compounding laboratory, two research laboratories for future faculty research, the College of Pharmacy's Admissions Office, and other related academic space. The College of Pharmacy Administration, faculty and support personnel will have offices in the current office building which will be totally redesigned to meet the COP needs. This facility will also house smaller conference classrooms and related College facilities. The COP will initially occupy 30,000 sq. ft. of space in the two connected buildings with an additional 48,000 sq. ft. of space available to the COP for any needed growth. The total complex will have over 78,000 sq. ft. of space.

In summary: The Sullivan University College of Pharmacy will be housed in 30,000 sq. ft. of new and redesigned space, with the ability to expand as needed into the remaining 48,000 sq. ft. The University will have the new building completed in the summer of 2008.

With our College of Pharmacy physical facilities assured, the University is ready to begin this quest for excellence in Pharmacy Education with outstanding classroom, laboratory, and faculty facilities.

Everyone at Sullivan is very excited about the new College of Pharmacy and the innovative curriculum and extremely well qualified faculty and staff who will be coming to Sullivan from top Colleges of Pharmacy across the country to join with me in this exciting endeavor.

This letter is the first in a series of communications that I will be sharing with you on a regular basis regarding our College of Pharmacy.

I wish you the best of luck in your quest to join this wonderful profession. I am looking forward to seeing you join our inaugural class which will begin this accelerated three year program in July 2008. In the meantime, if there is anything I may do to be of further assistance to you, please do not hesitate to contact me.
